Supposing you were given a bonus day, an extra day to dream and play?
When I woke up this morning to sunshine and the hints of spring green grass growing outside, I knew exactly which Supposing card I wanted to share. Then I remembered I still had these gold and silver sparkly butterfly wings from over 14 years ago, tattered and worn but still good for flight.
I went outside before breakfast in my sweatpants and winter coat, only 27 degrees, to play with this idea and my Emotikin. Dad and the cats sat in the warm, sunny kitchen, Tom Jupiter meowing loudly about why did she get to go outside and play?
Have you ever heard a pilot say that “lift equals drag?” That there is a magical physics to the moment when what’s working against you along with your velocity provide the right pressure under the wings to go airborne? Or some such thing!!
“What helps you soar toward your new path? What gives you lift to leap?”
For me, today, it was waking up to Helen Reddy singing in my mind, “You are strong…strong! You are invincible. Invincible. You are woman!” I admit she’s there because yesterday she was also belting out that song on my car radio, FM 102.5 and inspired my Mystic DJ. And then when I was preparing a short reel for Instagram, there were The Beatles singing how it’s a sunny day, and it is.
What gives you the lift to take a leap of faith?
I’ve been hibernating and nesting the past couple of months, settling into my new roommate situation with Dad and his cat, Snowflake, putting the finishing touches on the next book for Creative Courage Press that’s debuting in June (more on that soon), and preparing for hand surgery in April to repair a worn out joint in my thumb.
But today of all days, this bonus day of the year, felt like the perfect day to have some fun, share a Supposing card with you, and those questions to ponder:
“What helps you soar toward your new path? What gives you lift to leap?”
